MANILA, Philippines — BYD Cars Philippines finished strong in 2025 as sales surged by 446 percent year-on-year.
In a statement, BYD Cars Philippines, a subsidiary of ACMobility, said its retail sales reached 26,122 units last year, well above the 4,780 units sold in 2024.
The 446 percent year-on-year increase in sales strengthens BYD’s position as the new energy vehicle market leader in the country.
BYD’s sales performance was supported by the strong demand across the brand’s lineup.
The Seagull leads BYD’s 4,608 battery electric vehicle sales as the top-selling vehicle.
Meanwhile, the Sealion 6 led BYD’s DM-i or plug-in hybrid electric vehicle range.
BYD Cars Philippines managing director Bob Palanca said 2025 marked a significant milestone in the advancement of new energy vehicles in the country.
“BYD’s strong growth underscores our sustained commitment to democratizing electrified mobility. It demonstrates that when innovation is paired with accessibility, the market responds positively. We remain firmly focused on making electric vehicles attainable for Filipino households nationwide,” he said.
Following the significant milestone last year, BYD and ACMobility renewed their distribution partnership for passenger cars in the Philippines.
The partnership between BYD and ACMobility, which started in August 2023, paved the way for the brand’s rapid expansion across the country.
Last year, BYD also achieved its target of 79 operational dealerships nationwide from just 25 locations at the close of 2024.
“These milestones are a clear signal of our unwavering, long-term commitment to the Philippine market,”BYD Philippines country head Adam Hu said.
“Together with ACMobility, we are committed to fueling this momentum and making new energy vehicles the standard, not the exception for Filipino drivers,” he said further.
