Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On January 15, FANGCHENGBAO, BYD’s sub-brand that focuses on personalized identity, announced that cumulative brand sales have reached 300,000 units, with the TAI 7 model alone surpassing 100,000 units.

FANGCHENGBAO’s current lineup spans several models, including the BAO 5, BAO 8, TAI 3 and TAI 7, forming a portfolio that blends rugged design cues with electrified powertrains.

The TAI 7 hit the market on September 9, 2025, with four variants priced between 179,800 yuan and 219,800 yuan. As the first boxy, lifestyle-oriented model under the FANGCHENGBAO TAI series, it features a sizable footprint, measuring just under five meters in length and riding on an extended 2,920 mm wheelbase that underpins its spacious cabin proportions.

In terms of design, the TAI 7 adopts what the brand calls a “Starship Ark” styling theme, characterized by bold, angular surfaces and a distinctly rugged stance. The front end features a closed grille, an illuminated brand emblem, and a layered lighting arrangement combining L-shaped light strips with squared headlamps, giving the vehicle a highly recognizable visual signature.

Inside, the TAI 7 emphasizes a technology-forward cabin layout. It is equipped with a 15.6-inch central touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 26-inch head-up display. Additional screens for climate controls and rear passengers, along with support for two optional 13-inch BYD Pads in the second row, enable a seven-screen interactive ecosystem. Practicality is another highlight, with a 3,310 mm usable cabin length and a trunk offering up to 1,000 liters of cargo space, expandable to 1,880 liters with the rear seats folded down.

At the top end of the range, the TAI 7 is fitted with BYD’s DiPilot 300 LiDAR-assisted driver assistance system. The flagship variant also comes with 20-inch wheels, high-performance front four-piston brake calipers, an active fragrance system and a 20-speaker audio setup, with the option to equip BYD’s in-car intelligent drone system.

Under the body, the TAI 7 features a double-wishbone front suspension paired with a five-link independent rear setup. Higher-end versions further incorporate BYD’s DiSus-C intelligent damping body control system and preview-based suspension technology, enhancing both ride comfort and handling stability and reinforcing the model’s positioning as a technologically sophisticated yet lifestyle-oriented SUV.
