On January 12, BYD teased its upcoming D-segment flagship Tang 9 full-size SUV and Han 9 executive sedan, aiming to “break through the 200,000 to 300,000 yuan (28,700 to 43,000 USD) market segment” and enter the entry-level segment of the broader luxury vehicle market. The official unveil is scheduled for the first half of this year.
BYD is currently crowdsourcing names for both models. The official launch dates have not yet been announced at this time.
In terms of technical specifications, both models will offer BEV and PHEV variants, featuring an 800V high-voltage architecture, reported by Chinese news outlet Autohome.
According to official information, both two flagship models will not only be larger in size, and will also be equipped with BYD’s latest and most advanced complete set of technologies.
The teaser images showed a roof lidar on both models, indicating high-end advanced driving assistance system.

Furthermore, the Tang 9 will be the production version of the BYD’s Dynasty-D concept SUV that debuted at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show, and will have a length exceeding 5.2 meters, as reported by Autohome.

The side profile of the Tang 9 looks similar to the Dynasty-D concept car, with the chrome trim strip above the windows extends to the top of the D-pillar. Additionally, the B-pillar is decorated with double chrome trims in the spy images by Difans. Difans translates to BYD Fan’s Home – a community for BYD car enthusiasts.

The Han 9 model will have a length exceeding 5.1 meters, and its wheelbase is expected to reach 3.1 meters.
As of November 2025, both the Han and Tang series have cumulative sales exceeded 1.93 million vehicles.
