Tesla (TSLA, Financials) is taking its Cybercab on the road and its next stop is Shanghai. The company plans to display the driverless taxi at the China International Import Expo from November 5 to 10, marking the vehicle’s first appearance in the Asia-Pacific region.

The announcement came from Tesla Vice President Tao Lin in a Weibo post, where she said the company was excited to share its newest product with Chinese audiences. The showcase will give visitors a first look at Tesla’s approach to autonomous driving, even as the company keeps quiet about any plans to launch the service in China.

Unveiled by CEO Elon Musk last year, the Cybercab represents Tesla’s push into ride-hailing automation. The vehicle began limited operations in Austin this summer with human safety drivers and invite-only riders. Tesla expects to start full production next year.

The Shanghai showcase comes at a time when China’s own tech firms including Baidu and Pony AI have been testing robotaxis in several major cities. Tesla’s appearance puts it directly in view of Chinese regulators and consumers who are already familiar with local versions of the technology.
