The Xpeng X9 EREV, a large minivan with a mixed range of 1,600 km under CLTC conditions, is set to debut in China in October 2025. It boasts a 63.3 kWh battery, suitable for 450 km of BEV range. Thanks to an 800V high-voltage system, it supports 5C charging.
The Xpeng X9 EREV applied for a sales license in China on August 8, revealing core specs. In early September, Xpeng officials disclosed that the X9 minivan will adopt the new SEPA 3.0 platform and a large 63.3 kWh battery. On September 15, Xpeng officials shared that the X9 will make its debut in October this year.

EREV stands for Extended Range Electric Vehicle. It is a type of plug-in hybrid powertrain, where the internal combustion engine (ICE) isn’t connected to the wheels. Instead, it serves as a power generator, sending power to a battery and electric motors. Range extenders became popular in China as they are cheaper than their BEV counterparts. Moreover, EREVs help to deal with range anxiety problems.

The all-electric variant of the X9 minivan entered the Chinese market in January 2024. Cumulative sales of this BEV reached 32,765 units. This year, the company will reveal the EREV variant of the X9. It aims to enhance the sales volume of the model. The X9 EREV will make its official debut in October.
The Xpeng X9 EREV has a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine under the hood with a peak power output of 110 kW (148 hp). It is complemented by a CALB-made LFP battery for 63.3 kWh. Thanks to an 800V high-voltage system, the X9 minivan supports 5C charging with a peak power of around 316.5 kW. The X9’s electric range reaches 450 km under CLTC conditions. On a full fuel tank, it can run up to 1,600 km.
There is no information about the drive type and peak power output of the Xpeng X9 EREV’s electric motors. Dimensions of this MPV are 5316/1988/1785 mm with a wheelbase of 3,160 mm. The curb weight is 2,750 kg.
