- The updated N9 arrives just six months after the SUV’s March launch, making it one of the fastest-refreshed models under BYD‘s umbrella.
- The N9 sold 2,021 units in August, bringing cumulative sales to 20,136 units.

BYD’s (OTCMKTS: BYDDY) premium brand Denza will launch the updated N9 on September 17 to bolster its efforts in the large luxury SUV (sport utility vehicle) market.
Denza announced the plan today on Weibo, just six months after the N9 was launched in March — making it one of the fastest-updated models under BYD’s umbrella.
Denza calls the updated N9 the 2026 model and announced that renowned Chinese actress Gao Yuanyuan will serve as its brand ambassador.

The N9 was launched on March 21, offering two variants starting at RMB 389,800 ($54,700) and RMB 449,800.
The six-seat hybrid SUV is Denza’s flagship model, measuring 5,258 mm in length, 2,030 mm in width, and 1,830 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,125 mm.
Powered by BYD’s e3 technology, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds despite weighing up to 3,245 kg.
In late May, the N9 reached its 10,000th delivery milestone. BYD chairman and president Wang Chuanfu personally handed over the milestone vehicle to Zhou Jian, founder, chairman, and CEO of Chinese humanoid robot maker UBTech Robotics (HKG: 9880).
Denza sold 11,993 units in August, marking a 20.06 percent year-on-year increase and a 5.43 percent rise from July, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
August sales comprised 8,712 units of the D9 MPV, 1,102 units of the Z9 series, 2,021 units of the N9, and 158 units of the N7.
Cumulative sales of the N9 reached 20,136 units by the end of August.
Beyond these models, Denza filed for a new SUV, the N8L, in May which appears to be a slightly scaled-down version of the N9.
The six-seat N8L measures 5,200 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,820/1,990 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,075 mm.
It offers curb weight options of 2,980 kg and 3,040 kg, supporting a top speed of 220 km/h.
At the end of July, local media outlet Yiche reported that the N8L will be officially launched in the second quarter of next year, targeting the luxury SUV market alongside the N9.
