BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) announced today that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Finnish automotive distributor Veho Group to upgrade its sales and service network in the Nordic country.

Through this partnership, BYD plans to open new retail outlets in Helsinki, Espoo, Tampere, and Turku, the Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) maker said in a statement today.

The two parties will further develop a nationwide sales and service network in Finland to provide local consumers with more convenient purchasing, usage, and after-sales services, according to the company.

Finland is one of Europe’s most important NEV markets, and the partnership with Veho will enable more consumers to experience BYD’s models up close, said Stella Li, the company’s executive vice president.

Since entering the Finnish passenger vehicle market in 2023, BYD has launched eight models in the country, including pure electric and hybrid models.

In October 2023, RSA was the partner dealer for BYD when it launched the Dolphin and Seal models in Finland. The company did not mention whether it still has a partnership with RSA.

BYD sold 344,296 NEVs in July, up 0.56 percent year-on-year, but down 10.01 percent from June, according to data released by the company.

It sold 80,737 vehicles overseas in July, up 169.00 percent year-on-year, but down 10.34 percent from June.

BYD registered 7,231 BEVs in Europe in April, ahead of Tesla‘s 7,165.
