On the other hand, BYD company is making a huge change on their previous thoughts. They didn’t trust autonomous driving cars, they believed this technology would be impossible because of its separation from humans.
However, now they are investing $14 million in the development of this new project along with Huawei. Also, they have hired 5,000 employees just for this. This shows look forwards to beginning with this project and it also shows how well prepared they are to compete in this area.

This partnership between BYD and Huawei is launching the Bao 8 SUV model, which includes an intelligent driving system coming from Huawei called Qiankun ADS 3.0. This system will make the vehicle guide on its own for certain places with the navigate on autopilot option. What’s more, forget about parking, this would be done by the new car on its own too.
An affordable vehicle… or maybe not
BYD is known for selling cars at affordable prices, but the company it’s taking a turn. Now they look for selling this new model in the high-end market and compete against companies like Tesla, Mercedes-Benz and BMW.
The new autonomous car will even be part of a new brand the BYD company is launching. They are coming with a very well thought strategy to step into this industry full of big shots.
