GAC Hyptec HL full-size crossover with BEV and EREV powertrain variants started deliveries in China with a starting price of 269,800 yuan (37,020 USD). It has eight trim levels. The all-electric Hyptec HL boasts up to 750 km range and 4WD for 510 hp.
Hyptec was initially launched in China under the “Hyper” name in 2023. This high-end brand was rebranded as Hyptec in 2024. Its current model line comprises four models. The brand’s latest car is the Hyptec HL crossover.



On April 28, GAC Hyptec shared a photo of the first owners of the HL flagship SUV. The first batch of models was delivered to the GAC’s R&D center in Guangzhou. The GAC Hyptec HL is available in eight trim levels. The EREV modification of this vehicle costs between 269,800 – 299,800 yuan (37,020 – 41,140 USD). Its BEV variant has a wider price range of 269,800 – 319,800 yuan (37,020 – 43,860 USD).

The GAC Hyptec HL is a full-size SUV with dimensions of 5126/1990/1750 mm and a wheelbase of 3088 mm. It adopts the brand’s latest design language with running lights resembling Porsche cars. The Hyptec HL’s headlights sit on the front bumper. From the back, the flagship SUV has two vertically aligned taillights joined by a thin LED strip. Its exterior features include flush door handles and a LiDAR on the roof.

The GAC Hyptec HL is available with two seat layout variants: for five and six seats. The car’s center console adopts a 27-inch head-up display and a thin LCD instrument cluster behind the steering wheel. It also has a 17.3-inch 3K touchscreen powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip. The car’s gear shifter sits behind the steering wheel. The center tunnel adopts two 50W wireless charging pads.



The BEV variant of the Hyptec HL adopts the 800V high-voltage system, good for the 5C charging. The entry-level car has a 95.9 kWh ternary NMC battery. It sends power to a single electric motor in the rear axle with a peak power of 250 kW (335 hp). The car’s range is 670 km under CLTC conditions. The second battery variant has a capacity of 108.35 kWh. It is available with RWD for 250 kW and 4WD for 380 kW (510 hp). This modification can run up to 750 km on a single charge.



The EREV variant of the Hyptec HL has a single e-motor in the rear axle for 250 kW. It is powered by a 60.33 kWh ternary NMC battery pack, suitable for 350 km of electric range. The 1.5-liter turbocharged ICE hides under the hood. It acts as a generator, sending power to electric motors and a battery. Thanks to a 53-liter fuel tank, the Hyptec HL can run up to 1,200 km in a hybrid mode.
