The Nio ES9 flagship SUV will commence deliveries in China on June 1, the company’s president Qin Lihong revealed at the Nio Spring Festival. The ES9 adopts all the technology from the previously launched ET9. It will also become the largest mass-produced Chinese BEV crossover.
The Nio ES9 applied for a sales license in China in January 2026, revealing core specs. Later, this model was spotted during cold-weather tests in Yakeshi, Inner Mongolia. This month, Nio President Qin Lihong shared that the Nio ES9 will be officially revealed on April 10. The sales launch is expected to kick off in May.

Deliveries of the Nio ES9 will start on June 1. According to Qing Lihong, the car will adopt all the technology from the ET9 flagship sedan, including steer-by-wire, a 900V high-voltage system, and active suspension. At the same time, the ES9 will be offered in various trim levels, including a more affordable entry-level model.
There is no information about the Nio ES9’s pricing. CarNewsChina expects this vehicle to start at approximately 500,000 yuan (72,630 USD). This way, there will be no inner competition between the flagship ES9 and the current Nio bestseller ES8 III.

The Nio ES9 is a full-size SUV with dimensions of 5365/2029/1870 mm and a wheelbase of 3,250 mm. For clarity, it is only 17 mm shorter than the Cadillac Escalade. But the ES9 has a 179-mm longer wheelbase. The car’s curb weight reaches 2,915 kg. It is available with 6 and 7 seats.

The ES9 has a dual-motor AWD with a peak power of 520 kW (697 hp). The car’s top speed reaches 220 km/h. Similar to other Nio-branded cars, the ES9 supports the battery-swap technology. This BEV adopts a 102kWh battery pack with CLTC pure electric range options of 580km, 600km, and 620km.
It is also worth noting that Nio plans to launch the Onvo L80 crossover in late April this year. It is highly likely to enter the market at the Beijing Auto Show 2026. Deliveries of this crossover will start in May.
