Changan‘s electric vehicle brand Deepal has officially launched its new L06 model in Chongqing, positioned as a “long-range magnetic ride laser intelligent sports sedan.” The Deepal L06 was unveiled on November 18, 2025, with prices ranging from 134,900 to 156,900 yuan (18,800 – 21,800 USD).
What sets the L06 apart in its segment is the implementation of BWI Group’s fourth-generation MagneRide® magnetic ride suspension system – the same technology used in Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Cadillac vehicles. This suspension can adjust damping 1,000 times per second, providing supercar-level handling while maintaining comfort.
The L06’s exterior design, led by Klaus Zyciora, features split headlights, a closed grille, and frameless doors with dimensions of 4,830mm length, 1,905mm width, and 1,480mm height on a 2,900mm wheelbase.

Inside, the L06 features a T-shaped layout with over 90% soft-touch materials, a three-spoke steering wheel, and a 50-inch AR-HUD. The seats offer 91.7mm side support for a racing feel, complemented by 256-colour ambient lighting and a 15.6-inch “sunflower screen.”

On the technology front, the L06 is equipped with a world-first 3nm automotive-grade cockpit chip and comes standard with LiDAR across all trim levels, supporting city and highway autopilot functions through a joint development with Horizon Robotics.

Two powertrain options are available: a pure electric version with a 200 kW (268 hp) motor delivering up to 670km CLTC range and 30-80% charging in 15 minutes; and an extended-range version combining a 1.5L range extender (72kW) with a 175 kW (235 hp) electric motor and a 28.39 kWh battery, offering 240km of pure electric range and up to 1,500km total range.
About the magnetorheological damper

The technology was originally developed by General Motors Delphi Automotive Division based in the USA and then developed further by Beijing West Industries (BWI) in China after BWI bought the technology from General Motors.
These types of systems are used by vehicles including the Acura MDX, Audi TT and R8, Buick Lucerne, Cadillac ATS, CTS-V, DTS, XLR, SRX, STS, Chevrolet Corvette, Camaro ZL1, Ferrari 458 Italia, 599GTB, F12 Berlinetta, Mustang Mach-E, Shelby GT 350, Holden HSV E-Series, and Lamborghini Huracán.
The BWI group has successfully completed its global layout across China, Europe, and North America, with production capabilities in Poland serving luxury brands like Ferrari and Lamborghini, while new production lines in Shenzhen and Zhangjiakou, China, will boost annual capacity to 2 million magnetic ride shock absorbers.
