BYD reveals interior of refreshed Denza D9 ahead of March 29 pre-sale, with three-row layout

BYD has released interior images of the refreshed Denza D9 ahead of its pre-sale on March 29, showing updates to the cabin layout and rear passenger amenities, according to IThome.

CarNewsChina previously reported that BYD confirmed the pre-sales timing and key battery specifications earlier this week, including fast-charging capability targets for the model.

Interior layout

The updated Denza D9 appears to adopt a three-row configuration, according to official images. The front cabin includes a standard instrument cluster and central control screen, along with an additional display for the front passenger.

Second-row passengers are equipped with a roof-mounted screen and folding tray tables, while the seat armrests integrate small control screens for in-seat adjustments and functions.

Powertrain and range

The model is equipped with BYD’s second-generation Blade battery (short). The company states that charging from 10% to 70% takes approximately 5 minutes, while charging from 10% to 97% takes around 9 minutes under typical conditions. In cold conditions at -30°C, the charging time increases by about 3 minutes.

The refreshed D9 is offered in both plug-in hybrid and battery electric variants. The plug-in hybrid version delivers a pure electric range exceeding 400 km, while the fully electric variant reaches up to 800 km.

CarNewsChina previously reported that the Blade 2.0 battery offers both short-blade and long-blade configurations, with charging rates and energy densities varying by application.

Exterior update and regulatory filing

The Denza D9 EV variant has appeared in a recent Ministry of Industry and Information Technology filing. The listing shows updates to the front fascia, including a redesigned grille that retains the diamond-cut styling theme while adding more pronounced surface layering.

Launch timing

BYD confirmed that pre-sales for the refreshed Denza D9 will begin on March 29. The model is expected to enter the market in the first half of the year, according to previously released official information.
