The world’s biggest NEV maker BYD will launch the Yangwang luxury car brand in the Middle East in early 2026. The company’s vice-president Stella Li shared that later Yangwang vehicles will reach Europe and the Americas. Its current model line comprises high-end off-roaders, a sedan, and the world’s fastest sports car.
Yangwang was launched in China in January 2023 as the top-of-the-line brand under BYD. The U8 off-road SUV with a price tag of 1,089,000 yuan (~150,000 USD) became the first model in this division. The U9 sports car, the U7 sedan, and the U8L SUV followed. China EV DataTracker indicates that Yangwang delivered 2,341 units from January to September 2025 domestically. Soon, this brand will go global.
Yangwang in the Middle East
On November 5, IT Home reported that BYD vice-president Stella Li shared during the press conference in Zhengzhou that Yangwang will enter the Middle East in early 2026. It will mark the start of this luxury brand’s overseas development. Later, Yangwang will enter Europe and North & South America.
Stella Li previously shared that Yangwang will enter the UK market in 2027. Moreover, BYD hinted that the Yangwang U8 will come to the Brazilian market at some point. The young brand will play in the most expensive car segment outside China. Its rivals include a wide range of brands: Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Range Rover, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Ferrari.
Back to Yangwang in the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) became the first overseas market for this brand. BYD joined hands with Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility to sell the Yangwang U8 here. It is available in a single trim level called Arabian Edition. This version costs 650,900 AED (177,230 USD). For clarity, the Range Rover has a price tag of 510,000 AED (138,870 USD) in the UAE.
