2026 BYD SEAL Priced from £45,730 in the UK with More Tech, Bigger Boot and Up to 354 Miles Range

BYD has confirmed UK pricing and full specifications for the updated 2026 BYD SEAL, bringing more practicality, enhanced technology and subtle design tweaks — all while keeping the starting price unchanged at £45,730 on-the-road.

First launched in the UK in 2023, the SEAL has quickly established itself as a serious contender in Europe’s premium electric saloon segment. The 2026 update strengthens that position with increased luggage space, expanded safety tech and improved personalisation options.

Here’s everything UK buyers need to know.

Sharper OCEAN Design with New Colours and Wheels

The 2026 SEAL receives subtle exterior revisions that enhance its presence without altering its sleek fastback silhouette.

New 19-inch alloy wheels give the car a more assertive stance, while three fresh paint options — Ruby Red, Obsidian Black and Lavender Grey — join the existing Polar White, Indigo Grey and Atlantis Grey palette, offering buyers greater customisation.

At the rear, the BYD logo is now positioned centrally above the full-width LED light bar, with the SEAL badge relocated to the lower right of the boot lid for a cleaner look.

Inside, the cabin retains its premium feel with soft Nappa leather upholstery as standard. The headrests now feature a cleaner, logo-free design, and the centre armrest no longer displays the NFC badge — though functionality remains unchanged.

Bigger Boot and More Practical Storage

One of the most significant upgrades for 2026 is improved practicality.

Despite retaining its 4.8-metre footprint, the SEAL’s boot capacity increases from 400 litres to 485 litres, making it far more usable for family buyers and business users alike. A standard powered tailgate remains, and new tethering hooks help secure loose items.

Under the bonnet, the front storage compartment (frunk) expands by 19 litres to 72 litres — large enough to store charging cables or even a carry-on suitcase.

For UK drivers who frequently travel long distances or use their EV as a primary family car, this extra space is a welcome improvement.

Enhanced Driver Assistance and Digital Access

The 2026 model builds on the SEAL’s already generous standard specification with upgraded safety and connectivity.

A new Driver Monitoring System ensures compliance with the latest European safety standards by detecting driver attention levels. Additionally, a new Bluetooth™ key enables smartphone-based keyless entry, allowing owners to access and start the car without a traditional key fob.

Trim Levels: Design vs Excellence

Two trims continue for 2026:

SEAL Design – From £45,730

Standard equipment includes:

  • LED headlights with High Beam Assistant
  • Panoramic glass roof
  • Dynaudio 12-speaker sound system
  • Dual 15W wireless charging pads
  • Heated and ventilated electrically adjustable front seats
  • Rotating 15.6-inch high-definition touchscreen

Power comes from a rear-mounted single motor producing 308bhp and 360Nm of torque.
0–62mph takes 5.9 seconds, with top speed limited to 112mph.

WLTP range: Up to 354 miles

SEAL Excellence – From £48,730

The range-topping Excellence adds:

  • Head-up display
  • Dual-motor all-wheel drive system
  • Semi-adaptive suspension with variable frequency dampers

Performance increases significantly, with 523bhp and 670Nm of torque, delivering a 0–62mph time of just 3.8 seconds.

WLTP range: Up to 323 miles.

Blade Battery Technology and Charging

A key differentiator remains BYD’s proprietary Blade Battery, using cobalt-free Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) chemistry.

Both versions use an 82.5kWh battery, balancing strong range with durability and thermal stability — an important consideration for European climates.

  • WLTP range: up to 354 miles (Design)
  • DC rapid charging: up to 150kW
  • 10–80% recharge: approximately 37 minutes

This makes the SEAL competitive for motorway travel across the UK, especially when paired with expanding high-power charging networks.

Warranty Coverage Adds Strong Value

Pricing remains unchanged despite the upgrades:

  • SEAL Design – £45,730
  • SEAL Excellence – £48,730

Both are backed by a six-year / 93,750-mile vehicle warranty, plus an eight-year / 155,350-mile battery warranty — reinforcing BYD’s value proposition in the European EV market.

A Stronger Contender in Europe’s Electric Saloon Segment

With increased practicality, enhanced safety technology and unchanged pricing, the 2026 BYD SEAL strengthens its position in the competitive UK and European EV market.

Buyers get premium equipment, strong real-world range and performance that rivals far more expensive electric saloons — particularly in Excellence AWD form.

For drivers seeking a tech-rich, long-range electric saloon with standout value, the updated SEAL is now more compelling than ever.
