GAC-Toyota officially launched its new pure electric large-sized sedan, the bz7, yesterday. The vehicle, available in five configurations, enters the market with a competitive subsidised price range of 147,800 to 199,800 yuan. Boasting a Huawei HarmonyOS 5.0 cockpit, Momenta R6 ADAS, and a Huawei Drive ONE electric powertrain, the bZ7 received over 3,100 confirmed orders within the first hour of its launch.
The bZ7 is offered across five variants, covering CLTC ranges of 600 km, 700 km, and 710 km. This vehicle entered pre-sales earlier this month, it was first seen at the Shanghai Auto Show last year. The automaker announced that the new model is available for immediate delivery.
The bZ7 showcases GAC Toyota’s family design language. Its front fascia is characterised by a horizontal LED light strip and C-shaped daytime running lights, complemented by sharp headlamps and a wide lower grille. The vehicle adopts a fastback coupe design from the C-pillar rearwards, enhanced by semi-hidden door handles. The rear features integrated LED taillights, mirroring the front’s design.
With dimensions of 5130 mm in length, 1965 mm in width, and 1506 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 3020 mm, the bZ7 comes standard with 20-inch wheels and offers seven exterior colours.
Inside, both front and rear seats offer ventilation, heating, and massage functions, with the front seats boasting a dual-motor zero-gravity design for enhanced comfort.
The bZ7 is equipped with the Huawei HarmonyOS 5.0 intelligent cockpit. It also ensures compatibility with Apple CarPlay. The intelligent voice system, powered by Huawei’s MoLA large model, supports four-zone recognition, continuous dialogue, and multi-command execution, while retaining essential physical buttons. Furthermore, the bZ7 natively integrates with the Xiaomi in-car ecosystem, with the Mi Home App for the car system and Xiaomi magnetic Bluetooth physical buttons slated for future release. The vehicle also features a Huawei StarFlash key.
For intelligent driving, the bZ7 incorporates the Momenta R6 advanced driver-assistance system. The LiDAR-equipped version features a comprehensive sensor suite including one LiDAR, five millimetre-wave radars, eleven high-definition cameras, and ten ultrasonic radars (totalling 27 sensors for the LiDAR variant). This system supports Highway NOA (Navigate on Autopilot), urban navigation-assisted driving, and full-scene parking functions, all without any subsequent subscription fees.
Underpinning its performance, the bZ7 utilises Huawei’s Drive ONE multi-in-one electric drive solution, delivering a peak power of 207 kW (278 hp) and an efficiency of 97.5%. It is powered by Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) batteries, available in two capacities: 71.35 kWh and 88.13 kWh. These configurations provide CLTC ranges of up to 710 km. The vehicle supports 3C fast charging, capable of adding 300 km of range in 10 minutes, and also features a 6.6 kW external discharge function.
The chassis is equipped with a “dual-chamber air suspension + SDC shock absorber + pre-scanning system” package. This intelligent road surface pre-scanning system actively scans the road ahead to adjust the suspension status in advance.
GAC Toyota’s Vice President of Sales, Peng Baolin, announced that the bZ7 secured over 3,100 confirmed orders within one hour of its official launch.
