The 10,000th Maextro S800 luxury sedan from Huawei and JAC was delivered in China. The anniversary model was handed over to Jet Li, a famous martial artist and actor. This model has a price range of 708,000 – 1,018,000 yuan (100,465 – 144,450 USD).
Maextro is a joint brand between the state-owned ex-Nio manufacturer JAC and Huawei. Their first model is the S800 new energy high-end sedan. It entered the Chinese market on May 30, 2025. JAC is responsible for the manufacturing of this vehicle, and Huawei takes care of its sales through the HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) network.
Maextro S800 milestone
Deliveries of the Maextro S800 kicked off in August. According to China EV DataTracker, this model delivered 7,077 units from August to November. On December 16, Maextro officials reported that the 10,000th unit of the S800 sedan was handed over to its owner. It means the JAC-Huawei project has already set the all-time high monthly delivery number with 2,923 vehicles sold.
A well-known martial artist and actor, Jet Li became the 10,000th owner of the Maextro S800 sedan. JAC chairman Xiang Xingchu and Huawei Automotive Business Unit Richard Yu hosted the anniversary delivery ceremony. Jet Li was previously known by its loyalty to Huawei’s automotive projects. He bought the Luxeed R7 crossover from Huawei and Chery for his daughter.
Maextro sales volume grows month-by-month in China. However, this brand is still far from its goal of selling around 8,300 units per month. The latest sales increase could be caused by two reasons. At first, the car market traditionally grows at the end of the year. Second, in 2026, the tax subsidy for the purchase of electric vehicles in China will decrease, so there is currently an accelerated demand.
