The Polestar 4 Estate will enter the global market in Q4 2026. Three more EVs from the Volvo offshoot will start sales by 2028, the company says. Polestar expects the sales volume to grow with the rise of the Polestar 4 share, as it previously suffered from losses.

Polestar closed its final direct sales store in China in October 2025 due to insufficient sales volume. According to China EV DataTracker, Polestar delivered 287 units in the Middle Kingdom, down 83.3%. Last year, Polestar sold 60,119 cars in 28 global markets, up 34% year-over-year. However, this brand reported 1.558 billion USD losses in Q1-Q3 last year.

According to previous reports, Polestar suffered from pricing pressure. Moreover, its shares have slid by over 93% in a few years. The Chinese automaker with Swedish heritage aims to flip this negative trend by expanding its retail sales network and launching four new models.

Four new Polestar models

Polestar plans to bring four new models to the market by 2028. One of them is the estate variant of the Polestar 4. It was previously spotted in China during road tests with a flat roofline and a roomy trunk. It adopts a roof spoiler, flush door handles, and a running light strip. The front end adopts a large air intake and a distinguishing design language.

The current Polestar 4 is the brand’s bestseller that stands on the SEA modular architecture that underpins a lot of Geely cars. The brand’s representatives said that a more versatile variant of the Polestar 4 will allow broadening the customer base. This EV will enter the market in the fourth quarter of 2026.

In summer 2026, Polestar will begin sales of the Polestar 5 four-door GT that was previously presented in 2025 as a concept car. It reportedly features a 112 kWh battery and a dual-motor AWD for 650 kW (872 hp). The Polestar 5 speeds up to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds.

In early 2027, Polestar will kick off sales of the second-generation Polestar 2 fastback crossover. It will be followed by the Polestar 7 compact SUV that is about to start global sales in 2028.

The company’s officials expect to deliver low double-digit retail volume growth with an increasing share of the Polestar 4 this year.
