Onvo, the family-focused sub-brand of Nio, announced today a new “Waiting Points” program for its popular L90 SUV, effective immediately. This initiative aims to compensate customers for extended delivery times due to a significant surge in orders. The program will award 500 points (worth 50 yuan or 7 USD) daily to L90 customers whose delivery exceeds 28 days from the order lock-in date.
According to an announcement on the Onvo app, the company expressed gratitude for the overwhelming trust and support from customers, noting that the Onvo L90 has been well-received since its launch. Since deliveries began on August 1, over 4,000 units have already been handed over to customers.
Onvo acknowledged that some customers have made significant preparations, such as selling their old vehicles and planning family trips, in anticipation of their new L90. The company stated, “We deeply empathise with your anticipation and the desire to hit the road immediately after locking in your vehicle’s configuration.”
The increase in order volume has led to delivery times being slightly longer than initially expected, despite Onvo’s extensive production preparations and efforts to coordinate with supply chain, manufacturing, and logistics partners to maximise output.
Under the new “Waiting Points” program, if a customer’s L90 delivery extends beyond four weeks (28 days) from the order lock-in date due to Onvo’s reasons, 500 points (7 USD) will be awarded for each additional day, starting from the 29th day. Point calculation will cease three days after the vehicle arrives at the delivery centre. The accumulated points will be credited to the primary user’s account within one week of vehicle pickup.
Furthermore, Onvo confirmed that this “Waiting Points” gesture will also apply to L60 customers who locked in their orders after July 1, 2025, and experience a waiting period exceeding four weeks.
Onvo L90 was launched on July 31st, achieved 1,976 cumulative deliveries in its first 72 hours, and sold 2100 units last week.
