Few states have an automotive history like Michigan. This legendary region is now taking strides towards electric vehicles (EVs). A stunning all-electric performance car has been unveiled in the hopes of rivaling Tesla and BYD. A famed American car company is responsible, and this release will excite and entice.
This EV has been designed with off-road and on-road features, blended with luxury
Any new car these days needs to do so much more than provide a mode of transport, and this EV is no different. A theatrical design with a pioneering driving set-up, this EV boasts such features as “Desert Mode”, with futuristic lighting fitted both inside and outside. It has an intentional duality, allowing it to excel on smooth tarmac and rough off-road terrain.
Described as a 2+2 crossover with a raised platform, it also comes with a high-speed performance mode along with its “Terra Mode”, which sees the air suspension engaged to grapple with off-road requirements. Not only that, but this EV has “Sand Vision” designed to increase visibility in dusty or sandy conditions.
The features seem endless as this EV has also been equipped with something referred to as “Elements Defy,” a system that uses vibrations to keep dust and dirt off the exterior when in harsh conditions.
Introducing Cadillac’s Elevated Velocity crossover concept EV
Cadillac is looking to become a heavyweight contender when it comes to EVs with the unveiling of its latest concept car. An all-electric motor is one thing, but this car transforms to match the driving mode selected. Not just the ambience of the cabin morphs for this, but even the stature of the car is fluid and adjusts accordingly.
“Welcome Mode” sees a warm white light emanating from the doors, control panels, and seats when a driver or passenger approaches the car. Gull doors open skyward, and the steering wheel, floor, and dash feature artfully designed animations that look like sand shifting in a breeze.
The car also facilitates rest and relaxation for a driver when it is put into “Elevate Mode.” Infrared lighting and temperature sensors are designed to help soothe the body. They even have a breathwork setting and lighting animations to aid in calming the mind.
Cadillac’s daring design as it enters the EV conversation
Cadillac has ladled this concept with inspired lighting and design elements. The outside of this EV has choreographed lights, vertical taillights, and an edgy light tunnel, all of which have been dreamt up to highlight the unique build of this car.
Rugged 24-inch wheels give this car an undeniable presence. Its streamlined roof and sleek hood add to the drama, fusing performance elements with chic and luxurious trimmings. If Cadillac homes in on the aspects of this car that make it stand out, then the future of their EV exploits looks bright.
Shouldering a storied history is a weight of its own to bear, but this company seems up to the task of continuing tradition while racing towards a future in which innovations are both welcomed and expected. The Elevated Velocity crossover concept does just that, as few EV concepts have been dreamt up that do half the things this car can. If they focus on even a small fraction of the features this car houses and adapt these to other models, the EV space will be in for an exciting era with the design wizards of Cadillac dictating the direction of performance EVs.
This concept EV is not a car they are looking to go to market with, but it lays out the direction they might be taking with their newer models. With Tesla and BYD cornering American markets, who better to stave off their advances than a trusted American brand with an ethos of excellence?
