The MG 4X electric crossover was officially revealed in China on March 10 as the first SUV in the MG4 family. The 4X aims at the high-volume SUV segment and offers a cockpit co-developed with Oppo, and the Navigate of Autopilot (NOA) function. On March 13, core specs of the MG 4X were exposed.

The car’s exterior styling aligns with the brand’s latest design language. It has a closed front end with a large air intake in the front and smooth headlights joined by an LED strip. The 4X adopts conventional door handles, a single taillight unit, and a small roof spoiler. This urban driver has an optional sunroof and three variants of rim designs.

The entry-level MG 4X has the TZ180XS0951 synchronous permanent magnet electric motor with a peak power of 125 kW (168 hp). This e-motor is manufactured by the United Automotive Electronic Systems (UAES), the joint venture between MG’s parent company, SAIC, and Bosch.

A more powerful variant of the MG 4X adopts the TZ204XS1351 synchronous permanent magnet e-motor for 150 kW (201 hp). It is manufactured by the SAIC-owned Huayu Automotive Electric Drive System. There is no information about the MG 4X’s battery capacity. However, models applied for sales licenses adopt an LFP pack.
