Leapmotor unveiled its first flagship MPV, the D99, during its 10th anniversary celebration event held in Hangzhou on December 28. At the event, Leapmotor Chairman Zhu Jiangming reflected on the company’s decade-long journey and shared his vision for future development. The ceremony also featured the first public appearance of the D99 MPV and the interior reveal of the D19 model.

Leapmotor achieved sales of 70,327 units in November alone. In 2025, Leapmotor’s annual sales approached 600,000 units, with the company on track to achieve annual profitability. For 2026, Leapmotor has set an ambitious sales target of one million vehicles.

Chairman Zhu attributes the company’s success to four key factors: comprehensive self-developed technology capabilities, consistently delivering high-value products, accelerated global expansion (now present in 35 overseas markets with international deliveries expected to exceed 60,000 units), and continuous improvement in efficiency and quality.

The newly unveiled D99 joins the D19 as Leapmotor’s flagship offering as its first MPV.

The D99’s front fascia shares design language with the D19, featuring three-segment daytime running lights and split headlamps. The front bumper includes active air intake grilles. The vehicle presents a dynamic, streamlined profile with a significantly angled A-pillar incorporating triangular windows that integrate seamlessly with the roof. The exterior features a two-tone design with a laser radar system mounted on the roof.

From the side, the D99 displays a short front overhang but an extended rear overhang and wheelbase. Silver trim accentuates the window line, creating a unified, planar appearance. The large rear sliding doors feature concealed rails for convenient access. The vehicle is equipped with 19-inch “Aspiration” wheels and Michelin silent tires.

At the rear, the D99 features an interactive light display supporting various lighting patterns. The straight rear design ensures ample space for third-row passengers and cargo. The large tailgate facilitates loading and unloading, while chrome accents on the rear bumper enhance the premium aesthetic. Cameras are positioned in the rear spoiler and license plate area.

While only the exterior was revealed at this event, the D99 is expected to share powertrain options with the D19:

The range-extender version is equipped with an 80.3 kWh battery. Utilizing an 800V platform, it can charge from 30% to 80% in 15 minutes.

The pure electric version features a 1000V voltage platform. Powering this variant is a 115 kWh CATL hybrid cell battery.
