Chinese, South Korean carmakers drive into Indonesia’s hybrid market

JAKARTA — Chinese and South Korean automakers are pushing into Indonesia’s hybrid electric car market, threatening the dominance of Japanese companies in the segment amid the lure of new government incentives.

China’s Chery Automobile on Thursday rolled out three hybrid models at the Indonesia International Motor Show in Jakarta, which opens to the public on Friday and runs through Feb. 23.
