More about Changan solid-state battery
The Changan Golden Bell (Jinzhongzhao) solid-state battery will be installed in robots and electric vehicles by the third quarter of 2026. Its mass production and installations will begin next year. The Golden Bell battery has an energy density of 400 Wh/kg. Its safety was reported to be 70% higher due to remote diagnostics by artificial intelligence.
Electric cars with a new battery pack will be able to run up to 1,500 km on a full charge. Changan didn’t provide any further details about the new battery. However, the company will provide more details about the new battery closer to Q3 2026.
Golden Bell is an independent battery brand under Changan. It was revealed in November 2023 with eight battery cell variants, including liquid, semi-solid, and solid-state types. This brand has a planned production capacity of 150 GWh.
It is worth noting that Changan is also closely working with CATL in the field of sodium batteries. This year, the two companies had a joint conference in Yakeshi, China. Changan & CATL revealed the Naxtra sodium battery pack with an energy density of 175 Wh/kg. The battery can discharge at -50°C and provides an electric range of over 400 km. The Changan Nevo Q05 and the Changan Nevo A06 will become the first two models with the Naxtra pack on board.
