BYD improves the battery warranty: 8 years and 250,000 km – among the best on the market
BYD is setting a new standard in the Norwegian electric car market with a new battery warranty of 8 years and 250,000 km. This is an improvement of a full 50,000 km from the previous limit of 200,000 km – and far above the industry standard of 160,000 km, which most competitors operate with.
Higher security for both new and existing customers
The new warranty covers 8 years or 250,000 km with at least 70% battery capacity, and it covers both new and existing customers. This makes BYD one of the most competitive players in the market in terms of battery reliability, especially for customers who drive long distances and want predictable costs.
An important safety factor in the transition to electric cars
For many customers, the battery is the biggest uncertainty factor when considering an electric vehicle. BYD’s upgraded battery warranty significantly reduces this threshold and gives consumers increased confidence in the product.
This warranty extension strengthens BYD’s position in the Norwegian market. BYD already has one of the market’s strongest factory warranties of 6 years or 150,000 km.

Ready-to-order models
The warranty extension applies to all BYD models, with the exception of the eTP3. BYD Norway has reported high demand for the popular electric models, especially in the period before the tax increase, and therefore recommends that all interested parties contact their dealer for information about available models, delivery times and prices.
