BYD Great Tang all-electric SUV interior revealed, up to 950 km range

BYD released the official interior images of its first D-segment flagship all-electric SUV, the BYD Great Tang, following the official exterior unveil yesterday. The new car adopts a 2+2+3 seating layout and features four screens. BYD will also launch a plug-in hybrid variant of the Great Tang in the future.

Cockpit layout featuring triple screens

Three screens are present on the dashboard including an instrument panel, a central control screen, and a co-pilot entertainment screen, which blends into the dashboard to create a concave effect. The screen dimensions have not been revealed at this time.

Second row seat layout

A ceiling-mounted entertainment screen is available for rear passengers, who also have access to two small tables and a refrigerator.

Third row seat layout

The BYD Great Tang measures 5263/5302 mm in length, 1999 mm in width, and 1790/1800 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3130 mm. Depending on the trims, its curb weights range from 2,640 kg to 2,970 kg, corresponding to gross vehicle weights from 3,245 kg to 3,575 kg.

The tire specifications are 265/45R21, 255/50R20, and 275/45R20. Other configurations include BYD’s “God’s Eye” B advanced driving assistance system supported by a roof lidar, a panoramic sunroof, and DiSus-P Intelligent Damping Body Control System, and rear-wheel steering.

Consumers will be able to choose from RWD and AWD versions, paired with BYD’s Blade battery. The RWD is available in 300 kW (402 hp) and 370 kW (496 hp) options. The AWD version has an additional front 215 kW (288 hp) motor.

Furthermore, two top speeds were declared in the regulatory filing: 240 km/h and 250 km/h. The Great Tang is also expected to be equipped with BYD’s Flash Charge technology. Official data shows that it takes 5 minutes to recharge 200 km of range.

The RWD is reportedly to have up to 950 km of range, while the AWD has up to 850 km of range, according to Autohome.

The detailed battery capacities have not been announced yet.
