Xiaomi has confirmed that the updated Xiaomi SU7 will launch on March 19, with the company positioning the revised model as a refinement of its first production electric sedan following roughly two years of engineering updates. The updated model carries a pre-sale price range of 229,900–309,900 yuan (33,320–44,910 USD).
Powertrain and charging upgrades
The revised SU7 introduces updates to its powertrain and charging architecture across the lineup. Standard and Pro versions move from the earlier high-voltage setup to a 752 V platform, while the flagship Max variant adopts an 897 V architecture, approaching the next generation of ultra-high-voltage EV charging systems.
Xiaomi also stated that the Max version can add up to 670 km of driving range in a 15-minute charging session, according to company figures. Range figures for the CLTC cycle are 720 km for the Standard version, 902 km for the Pro variant, and 835 km for the Max model. The updated model also standardises the V6S Plus electric motor across the lineup. Output increases were reported for several variants, though the company did not disclose motor power in kilowatts.
Intelligent driving and chassis systems
The updated sedan introduces a unified assisted-driving hardware platform across all variants, built around a 700 TOPS compute system running the Xiaomi HAD driver-assistance software.
Higher-trim models also receive additional chassis upgrades, including dual-chamber air suspension paired with CDC adaptive dampers. Xiaomi says the changes aim to improve ride control and handling stability.
Exterior and interior updates appear relatively limited, focusing mainly on detail changes such as revised centre-console controls. The updated model will be offered in nine body colours.
Industry context
Xiaomi’s entry into the electric-vehicle sector drew significant attention when the original SU7 sedan was introduced, marking the company’s first production vehicle following its expansion from consumer electronics into automotive manufacturing.
CarNewsChina reported that SU7 sales slowed sharply in February 2026, with only 218 units sold, as the factory retooled in preparation for the new-generation model, underscoring the transitional phase between production cycles.
Outlook
The upcoming launch will clarify final specifications and pricing for the revised model. Observers will also watch how Xiaomi positions the updated sedan within China’s competitive electric-vehicle market.
The company’s strategy for charging architecture, assisted-driving hardware, and software integration remains a central focus as Xiaomi continues to expand its automotive division.
