Chery has officially opened pre-sales for its new QQ3 EV, a pure electric compact car. The model, available in four variants, is priced between 68,920 and 89,985 yuan (10,000 and 13,000 USD). Key highlights include the Carmind intelligent agent, and the Falcon 500 intelligent driving assistance system. This vehicle made its debut at the Chengdu Auto Show last year, and it is to compete with China’s bestselling car of 2025 – the Geely EX2 (Xingyuan).
The Chery QQ3 EV lineup offers two range options and two trim levels each:
- 310km Love Edition: 68,920 yuan (10,000 USD)
- 310km Share Edition: 78,920 yuan (11,400 USD)
- 420km Love Edition: 78,985 yuan (11,450 USD)
- 420km Share Edition: 89,985 yuan (13,000 USD)
The QQ3 comes in six vibrant body colours: Cloud Pink Rice, Feather White, Moon Sword Silver, Scarlet Red, Elegant Purple, and Peach Blossom Pink. The front fascia features a closed grille flanked by rounded, Q-shaped LED headlights, complemented by a rounded, through-type air intake.
From the side, the vehicle incorporates semi-hidden door handles and black wheel arches. The design boasts a 0.643 wheelbase ratio, a 2.39 wheel height ratio, and a 3x wheel-to-axle ratio. The rear mirrors the front’s rounded lamp clusters. In terms of dimensions, the Chery QQ3 EV measures 4195mm in length, 1811mm in width, 1569mm (or 1573mm) in height, and has a wheelbase of 2700mm.
Inside, the cabin is centred around the AI Lingxi Smart Cabin, highlighted by a 15.6-inch 2.5K central control screen. This display is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip and integrates the Carmind intelligent agent, enabling “visible and speakable” interactions across various scenarios. A full LCD instrument cluster provides essential driving information.
Front seats offer both ventilation and heating. Other features include a smart colour temperature vanity mirror, an external shouting function, and a Bluetooth key. The interior is also equipped with four ecological threaded expansion interfaces for customisation. It features a 70L smart electric front trunk with eight opening methods, an electric rear trunk expandable from 375L to 1450L, and a 35L storage compartment under the rear seats. In total, the vehicle provides 38 storage spaces throughout the cabin.
The Chery QQ3 EV utilises a “Rock-solid” body structure. This construction incorporates 72% high-strength steel and 19% hot-formed steel, along with an integrated hot-formed door ring design. For advanced driving assistance, the vehicle is equipped with the Falcon 500 intelligent driving assistance system. This system supports over 100 automatic parking scenarios and offers high-speed NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) functions, including adaptive cruise control, lane centring, automatic on/off-ramp navigation, and assisted lane changes.
Powering the Chery QQ3 EV is a rear-mounted, rear-wheel-drive pure electric powertrain. It offers two motor options with maximum outputs of 58kW (78 hp) and 90kW (121 hp), delivering peak torques of 90N·m and 115N·m, respectively. Two battery capacities are available: 29.48kWh and 41.28kWh, providing CLTC pure electric driving ranges of 310km and 420km. Fast charging capabilities allow the battery to replenish from 30% to 80% in 16.5 minutes.
Additionally, the QQ3 EV supports 3.3kW and 6.6kW external discharge (V2L) functions. The vehicle also features a multi-link independent rear suspension for improved ride comfort and handling, with a minimum turning radius of 5.2m.
Editor’s comment
Competition is fierce in this price range. Unless the QQ3’s launch price is at least 1,000 USD lower than its pre-sale price, it probably won’t stand a chance against the upcoming Leapmotor A10. At the same price point, the A10 outperforms it in almost every category.
You might argue that they aren’t the same type of vehicle since the A10 is an SUV, but that’s exactly the point: SUVs are much more popular in the Chinese market.
