The Chery QQ3 EV four-door hatchback will enter the Chinese market on March 10. It boasts a large 15.6-inhc screen inside, a body length of 4.2 meters, a 121 hp electric motor in the rear axle, and up to 420 km of range. The QQ3 EV will rival China’s bestselling car of 2025 – the Geely EX2 (Xingyuan).

The Chery QQ name is well-known in China as it was one of the first vehicles the Wuhu-based manufacturer produced in large volumes. The first QQ entered the domestic market in 2003 as an unlicensed clone of the Daewoo Matiz. In a decade, Chery managed to produce over one million units of the QQ, transforming it into an independent series with three models: QQ3, QQ6, and QQme.

Starting from 2021, Chery tried to resurrect the QQ name by launching several mass-market electric city cars like the QQ Ice Cream and the QQ Domi. In 2026, Chery decided to make a bold move by bringing back the iconic Chery QQ3 name. It is a four-door hatchback designed for urban mobility.

The Chery QQ3 EV became available for pre-order on February 7, attracting 27,319 bookings within three hours. The official price of this city driver is still undercover. However, the QQ3 EV could be booked for 99 yuan (14.4 USD). This payment will be converted into a 999-yuan (146 USD) discount once the car starts sales.

All-new Chery QQ3 EV

Chery officials disclosed that the QQ3 EV will start sales on March 10 in China. This car clearly targets last year’s Chinese bestseller Geely Xingyuan electric hatchback. It sold 465,775 units domestically, according to China EV DataTracker. The Xingyuan sells overseas under the Geely EX2 name. Moreover, this car is being assembled in Malaysia as the Proton e.Mas 5.

The QQ3 EV will try to gain market share in the highly-competitive small electric hatchback segment. CarNewsChina expects this vehicle to cost 70,000 – 110,000 yuan (10,210 – 16,040 USD).
