Avatr, a premium electric vehicle brand by CATL, Huawei and Changan, today officially announced the naming of its new strategic cooperation 2.0 model with Huawei Qiankun as the Avatr 06T. This vehicle is poised to be among the first to feature Huawei’s brand-new generation LiDAR technology.
Official teaser images released by Avatr confirm the 06T will be a sleek wagon, adopting the brand’s family-style front fascia and a roof-mounted lidar unit. This announcement follows closely on the heels of yesterday’s leaked spy photos, which offered an early glimpse of the Avatr 06 wagon, albeit heavily camouflaged. Despite the disguise, the spy shots revealed a continuation of Avatr’s signature front design and a through-type taillight cluster.
The Avatr 06T is expected to be a wagon or shooting brake variant based on the Avatr 06. The Avatr 06, which is the brand’s fourth mass-produced model, is launched in April 2025. The 06T is anticipated to compete with models such as the Zeekr 007 GT in the market.
From the detailed spy photos, the Avatr 06T clearly adheres to the Avatr family design language. Its headlight clusters bear a strong resemblance to those of the Avatr 06, with a roof-mounted LiDAR. The vehicle’s side profile showcases a gently sloping fastback roofline that seamlessly transitions to the rear. Modern touches include electronic side mirrors and semi-hidden door handles.
The rear of the Avatr 06T is characterized by a noticeably full and muscular shoulder design, complemented by rounded rear fenders. The taillight assembly is expected to adopt the brand’s current split-type design, while the lower rear section, similar to the Avatr 06.
In terms of powertrain, the new model is projected to offer both pure electric and extended-range options. Furthermore, the Avatr 06T will be equipped with Huawei Qiankun’s ADS 4 driver-assistance system and the HarmonySpace 5 intelligent cockpit.
