Chery’s Fulwin X3 and X3L off-road SUVs will officially enter the Chinese market on August 16. The X3 is a BEV. The X3L is an EREV, and also a bigger variant of the X3. Both models can be regarded as the rebaged iCar 03 series.
Both models adopt the popular boxy design for off-road SUVs, with matching longitudinally arranged headlights and taillights, hidden door handles, and a rear external container for additional storage space.
The Chery Fulwin X3 measures 4327/1910/1715 mm (l/w/h), with a 2715 mm wheelbase. Consumers will be able to choose from RWD and AWD versions. The RWD is equipped with a 185 kW (248 hp) electric motor and a 68.355 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, resulting in a 520 km cruising range (assuming CLTC condition). The AWD has a combined maximum power of 255 kW (342 hp), according to Chinese social media ITHome.
More detailed powertrain specifications still need to be released by the official.
The Chery Fulwin X3L measures 4545 (4503)/1950/1815 (1785) mm, with a 2783 mm wheelbase. An optional towing hook is present in the rear and the maximum towing capacity is 1,600 kg. The range-extender powertrain consists of a 1.5T engine with a maximum power of 115 kW (154 hp) and dual electric motors that output a maximum power of 315 kW (422 hp) and a peak torque of 505 Nm. The official 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time is 4.7 seconds.
Four curb weights were declared by the Chinese MIIT: 1,842 kg, 1,905 kg, 1,933 kg, and 2,000 kg. The battery pack capacities offered are 20.638 kWh and 33.679 kWh, providing three pure electric cruising ranges of 90 km, 150 km, and 145 km (assuming WLTC condition).
Furthermore, both cockpits feature a large floating central control screen, a rectangular full LCD instrument panel, a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, and rectangular air-conditioning outlets. The center console also comes with two wireless charging pads.
