On July 11, the 2026 Smart #3 standard trims were launched in China with a price range of 164,900 – 209,900 yuan (23,000 – 29,300 USD), while the Brabus edition costs 259,900 yuan (36,300 USD). The design remains largely the same as the previous model, paired with some configuration upgrades. The Smart #3 was first launched in June 2023.
The new car continues the design philosophy of “sensibility and sharpness”. Most noticeably, the Smart brand logo has been moved from the C-pillar to the front fender. Positioned as a compact SUV, the length, width, and height remain unchanged: 4400/1844/1556 mm respectively; and the wheelbase is 2785 mm.
The Brabus edition continues to have a sporty exterior package, including the red calipers.
The new car runs on 19-inch five-spoke rims as the standard and optional 20-inch rims.
The panoramic sunroof has an area of 1.6 m2.
Two new exterior paints were added for consumers to choose from: Ceramic Cream and Electron Blue, bringing the total number of paints to eight.
The high-end trim comes with 23 sensors while the other trims come with 18 sensors to realize advanced driving assistance functionalities including parking assist, lane departure warning, lane change assist, traffic jam assist, and blind spot monitoring, to just name a few.
The standard version offers both RWD and AWD while the Brabus edition is only available in AWD.
- RWD: 200 kW (268 hp)/343 Nm rear permanent magnet synchronous motor, 49 kWh lithium iron phosphate (415 km range) or 66 kWh ternary lithium (555 km range) battery, fastest 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time is 5.4 seconds
- AWD: 115 kW (154 hp)/200 Nm front permanent magnet synchronous motor, same rear motor as the RWD, 66 kWh ternary lithium battery, 520 km range, 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of 4.3 seconds (or 3.6 seconds for the Brabus edition)
It takes less than 30 minutes officially to recharge the battery from 10% to 80% under DC fast charging.
Both versions adopt the same T-shaped cockpit layout, equipped with the familiar circular air-conditioning vents, a 9.2-inch full LCD instrument panel, a 10-inch W-HUD, and a 12.8-inch central control screen powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 cockpit chip.
The notable difference is that the Brabus edition is decorated with red stitching to create a sporty atmosphere, the outer ring of the steering wheel is replaced by suede instead of the leather material on the standard version, the Brabus logo can be lit up on the steering wheel, and the headrests echo the Brabus-theme.
Additionally, the whole series is equipped with 13 Beats speakers and 64-color ambient lights.
