2026 Xpeng P7 first real world spyshot.

A new generation 2026 Xpeng P7 was spotted in the wild without camouflage in China. The new fastback sedan, boasting a futuristic design and 586 hp, is expected to launch in August.

The new EV is a replacement for the P7+ sedan, currently on sale. Xpeng previously shared some exterior images, but aside from that, there are not many official details. However, thanks to MIIT filings, we already know the core specs.

The Xpeng P7 is a large coupe-sedan with dimensions of 5017/1970/1427 mm (length/width/height) and a wheelbase of 3008 mm. It is a 4-door 5-seater with a curb weight starting at 2,090 kg.

There are a few powertrain variants of the new P7. The entry-level rear-wheel drive (RWD) version features a single 270 kW (363 hp) motor powered by a lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery with 74.9 kWh capacity, good for 702 km CLTC range. The top speed is 230 km/h.

The long-range variant features the same e-motor but comes with a more expensive nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) battery with a capacity of 92.2 kWh, good for 820 km CLTC.

The all-wheel drive (AWD) variant has the same e-motor as the RWD but adds 167 kW on the front axle, bringing the total maximum output to 437 kW (586 hp). The same NMC battery from CALB powers it, providing a range of 750 km. The top speed is limited to 230 km/h.

Like its previous generation, it will offer variants with scissor doors. According to Xpeng, the new P7 is expected to launch in July or August. According to CarNewsChina information, the event is scheduled for August.

In May, Xpeng delivered 6,601 units of the current-generation P7 (also known as P7+) globally, accounting for approximately 20% of its sales.

Xpeng’s bestseller was the entry-level fastback sedan, the Mona M03, which delivered 10,900 units, accounting for 32.5% of the company’s sales. The second was the G6 compact SUV, which delivered 7,951 units, representing 23.7% of Xpeng sales. Xpeng P7+ was in third place, and the G9 flagship SUV got fourth place with 4,221 units.

In total, Xpeng delivered 33,525 cars globally in May, up 230% year-over-year, marking the seventh consecutive month surpassing the 30k milestone.

In China, Xpeng P7 will compete with Xiaomi SU7, Tesla Model 3 or BYD Seal.
